The CAB Radio VS87 is a multi-system locomotive radio station designed for 19“ and 10“ rack mounting, with a modular arrangement. It‘s an upgraded version of the type VS67, which is installed in over 3500 rail vehicles in Central Europe. The system comes with a new control box (MMI), antennas, and an integrated train-borne recorder.

The CAB radio supports digital and analogue communication systems, including GSM-R and 150 MHz Simplex Analogue System. It is expandable by 450 MHz Duplex Analogue System according to UIC 751-3, and it can be equipped with GSM-P voice and data communication modules to operate on public operator‘s networks. It has STOP functionality which enables remote train stopping.

The GPS module included in the system can be customized for locating rail vehicles according to customer requirements. The system is prepared for connectivity to other external devices in integration projects, including RF/ID readers, detectors, sensors, etc.
