The RS-71S is a secondary surveillance radar that evaluates replies from cooperative aircraft transponders to provide situation surveillance. It can operate as a standalone system or can be easily integrated with PSR and ADS-B systems. When integrated with ADS-B, it can minimize undesirable interference in the frequency band.
The system‘s firmware in programmable devices allows easy modification and upgrades. It is ICAO and EUROCONTROL compliant and supports Mode A, C and S up to level 5, IFF Mode 1, 2 and 3, and elementary and enhanced Mode S surveillance. It has a dual redundant solution with a fully automatic switch-over and continuous monitoring of all subsystems.
The system has a standard ASTERIX data interface and graphical control and monitoring system. It is designed for unattended operation and easy maintenance, and a remotely controlled Mode S site monitor is available as an option.
